The “hope molecule”

And what it has to do with Pilates…

Click here to book a private Pilates session with Jill M. - she has a WEALTH of knowledge about the latest research on movement science and how it applies to the work you do together!

We were chatting with Studio Evolve Pilates teacher Jill M. the other day and she told us about a powerful chemical in the human body that scientists have referred to as “the hope molecule.”

Chemicals called “myokines” are released into your bloodstream when you contract your muscles.

And myokines - “hope molecules” - have profound effects on your brain.

They act as anti-depressants, increase your resilience in the face of stress, boost motivation, and even help you learn more effectively from experience.

This is just ONE example of how movement supports not just your physical health, but also your mental health.

ESPECIALLY when you’re facing the #1 killer of hope (which, unfortunately, many of us are): chronic stress.

Really - this is based on research.

And the hope molecule is ONLY released by moving your muscles. There’s no other way to tap into this particular biopharmacological goldmine!

The good news is, movement doesn’t have to be intense or extreme to bring mental health benefits.

Walking your dog, going for a swim or a bike ride, practicing Pilates, or whatever form of movement you most enjoy will do the trick.

And while you’ll reap the mood-enhancing benefits of movement when you work with any teacher, if you like to nerd out about neuroscience and movement research, you may enjoy working with Jill M.

Click here to request a private session with Jill - she has availability on Mondays and Wednesdays!

P.S. If you’re new to Studio Evolve, your best value is the 2-Private Session Intro Offer.

You’ll get two one-on-one sessions with our expert teacher, who will introduce you to the equipment and the basics of Pilates, get to know you and your body, and take you through two movement sessions specifically designed to meet your individual needs.

Then they’ll offer a recommendation for a weekly practice that will fit within your schedule AND help you meet your goals!
