"I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER WALK WITHOUT THINKING EVERY STEP WAS DIFFICULT..."

How Bev and Caroline improved mobility and reduced chronic pain

Studio Evolve members Bev and Caroline live in Seattle during the warmer months and head to Palm Springs during the winter.

Before they ever started practicing Pilates, they had heard from lots of folks that it was a beneficial practice, but they never prioritized their time or their money for Pilates sessions until they both started having serious mobility issues.

After having her hip replaced, Caroline says, “I thought I would never walk without thinking about how difficult every step was again.”

Caroline had had two hip replacements and also was struggling with walking and with chronic back pain.

So they began taking Pilates sessions together as a couple with a teacher in Palm Springs, and they both found that it helped them walk and go about their daily routines with significantly less pain.

So when they came back to Seattle for the summer, Bev and Caroline looked for a Pilates studio where they could take sessions together - and found Studio Evolve.

Because the studio they had been going to in California was strictly Reformer-based Pilates, Studio Evolve’s holistic approach was new to them.

Caroline says, “Pilates has made me feel so much more stable on a moment-to-moment basis. It worked for me in California doing the Reformer. Adding other elements to the Reformer work at Studio Evolve, I’ve improved so much more.”

Bev appreciates the way their teacher, Jill, brings in her yoga background and develops unique sessions specific for the two of them. While they love their California instructor, they found Jill's holistic approach is not only more interesting, but also more effective for them. “The way Jill does our sessions is so satisfying for me. I wish she could come to Palm Springs. I would go to her!”
